Talkwalker
Connect Talkwalker to search mentions, track volume and sentiment, summarize coverage, manage topics, and export social listening data.
You paste one value into PopMCP: the API access token your Talkwalker customer success manager gives you.
Paid plan required before this connector works
Talkwalker has no self-service way to get API access. Its documentation says to apply for an access token through your customer success manager, so you need a Talkwalker account with API access.
- Typical wait
- None if you already have a token. Otherwise it depends on your customer success manager.
- Cost
- PopMCP adds nothing. Ask your Talkwalker customer success manager about pricing. API calls spend the credits in your subscription, which reset each month on your subscription day.
- Blocked until approved
- Without a token nothing connects. Changes to topics, documents, streams and panels also need a read_write token rather than a read_only one.
- Works meanwhile
- Talkwalker's own app works on its own. Nothing in PopMCP works until the token is accepted.
Where to apply: Ask your Talkwalker customer success manager for an API access token, read_write if the AI should be able to change things, and say which projects it should reach.
- Each search result, stream result and exported result spends a credit, and an export repeats that cost if you run it again.
- An active collector keeps spending credits as results arrive until you pause it.
- Setup time
- 1 min once you have the token
- Auth
- API credentials
- API base URL
- https://api.talkwalker.com
- Rate limits
- Per minute: global search 240, project search 60, global histogram 60, project histogram 30, documents 120, stream and collector reads 5, credits 10, resources 20, topics 30.
Before you begin
- A Talkwalker account with API access. Talkwalker issues API tokens on request, so if you have none yet, ask your customer success manager
- A read_write token if the AI should change topics, documents, streams or panels. A read_only token is enough for search and numbers

Ask for an API access token
Talkwalker's developer documentation says to request tokens from your customer success manager, and it names no page in the app where you make one yourself. Ask for a read_write token if the AI should be able to change things, or a read_only token if it should only read. Also tell them which projects the token should reach.
Paste it into PopMCP and choose the project
In PopMCP, paste the token into Access token and connect. PopMCP checks it with Talkwalker and lists the projects it reaches. Choose the project and the workspace it belongs in. A token linked to no project shows Global search only.
Connect in PopMCP
Open your workspace, choose Talkwalker in the marketplace, and fill in the connect dialog:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Access tokensecret | Ask your Talkwalker customer success manager for an API access token, then paste it here. Stored encrypted.Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on save and never shown again. |
PopMCP verifies the credential against Talkwalker immediately. On success the connection flips to Verified and its MCP tools are provisioned.
Verify it worked
PopMCP marks the Talkwalker connection Verified with your project's name and notes your monthly credits left. Asking the AI for a project overview returns your topics, filters, panels and credits.
Troubleshooting
Talkwalker did not accept this access token
Why:
Fix: Check that you copied all of it. If it still fails, the token may be inactive, so ask your customer success manager for a current one.
The picker shows Global search only
Why:
Fix: This token is linked to no project. Ask your customer success manager to link your projects to it, then connect again.
A change is refused with insufficient access rights
Why:
Fix: This is a read_only token. Ask your customer success manager for a read_write token, then connect again with it. PopMCP's own write setting must also allow changes.
Calls stop with no credits left
Why:
Fix: The account has spent its credits. They reset each month on your subscription day. Ask the AI for your credits, or ask your customer success manager for more.
Call limit exceeded
Why:
Fix: Talkwalker limits each endpoint per minute. Reading a stream or collector is limited to 5 calls a minute. Wait a minute and try again.
Global search is disabled for this account
Why:
Fix: Talkwalker has turned off the global index for your account. Search inside your project instead.
Listening to a stream returns nothing
Why:
Fix: A stream only delivers what arrives while connected, so an empty answer is normal. To gather results over time, ask the AI to create a collector and read it later. An active collector spends a credit per new result, so pause it when you are done.
Facebook, Instagram or TikTok posts are missing from results
Why:
Fix: Talkwalker does not export those posts through its API. Ask for a histogram instead, which gives the numbers.
An export ended with result_limit_reached
Why:
Fix: There were more results than the limit. PopMCP sets the limit to 1,000 unless you ask for more, and exporting the same period again spends credits again, so ask for a larger limit on a smaller period.
