Agorapulse

Connect Agorapulse to read your social inbox and reports, follow listening searches, answer comments and messages, and save posts as drafts.

Nothing has to be typed into PopMCP. You click Sign in with Agorapulse, sign in, allow access and choose your workspace. There is no developer app or callback URL to set up. Under More options you can use an API key instead, which needs the Custom plan.

Before you begin

  • An Agorapulse account. Agorapulse says signing in is open to all its users except those on the Legacy plan
  • At least one workspace in Agorapulse, with the social profiles you care about connected to it
  • Pop-up blockers must allow the Agorapulse sign-in window to open
  • Only if the AI should reply or save drafts: an owner or admin in PopMCP to allow write actions
  • Only for an API key: the Custom plan

Get your credentials

Start the connection from PopMCP

Open the Agorapulse connector in PopMCP and click Sign in with Agorapulse. There are no fields to fill in: no API key, no developer app and nothing to register.

Sign in and allow access

If you are not signed in to Agorapulse in this browser, Agorapulse asks you to log in first. Then it shows what PopMCP is asking for. Review it and click Authorize.

Choose your workspace

Back in PopMCP, pick the workspace this connection is for. If you manage several, each one you pick becomes its own connection, and each connection refuses requests for any other workspace.

Back in PopMCP

New connections are read-only: your AI can read your inbox, listening and reports, and nothing can be changed. An owner or admin in PopMCP can allow write actions when you want it to reply or save drafts. A reply goes out for real unless an approval workflow in Agorapulse holds it. Drafts are not published: someone reviews and schedules them in Agorapulse.

Or make an API key

Optional, instead of signing in, for file uploads, options for each network on a draft, Pinterest boards, competitor reports and metric sets. On the Custom plan, click your avatar at the bottom left of Agorapulse, open Personal settings, then API Keys, and click Create new API keys. Give it a name and click Create.

Copy the key into PopMCP

Click Copy, because the key cannot be seen again once you leave the screen, then click Done. In PopMCP, open More options on the Agorapulse form, paste it into API key and connect. A key has the access of the person who made it, so use an organization owner or manager's key if you want every profile.

Connect in PopMCP

Open your workspace, choose Agorapulse in the marketplace, and fill in the connect dialog:

API key (instead of signing in)secretAdds file uploads, draft options for each network, competitor reports and metric sets. Needs the Custom plan. In Agorapulse, click your avatar, open Personal settings, then API Keys, and create one. Copy it straight away: it is shown once. Stored encrypted and used only on our servers.Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on save and never shown again.

PopMCP verifies the credential against Agorapulse immediately. On success the connection flips to Verified and its MCP tools are provisioned.

Permissions PopMCP requests

These are the scopes sent to Agorapulse at authorization time.

ScopeWhy PopMCP asks for it
readThe one permission Agorapulse's sign-in lists. Agorapulse says its connector reads and also replies and saves drafts, within what your own user may do. PopMCP refuses those changes until write actions are allowed.

Verify it worked

The Agorapulse card in PopMCP shows Connected with your workspace's name. Asking the AI for the connection profile (agorapulse_connection_profile) shows the workspace, the tools available and which of them change data.

Troubleshooting

The sign-in window never opens

Why: A pop-up blocker is stopping the Agorapulse sign-in window.

Fix: Allow pop-ups for PopMCP in your browser and click Sign in with Agorapulse again.

Authorizing fails, or Agorapulse signs you in to the wrong account

Why: Agorapulse's help suggests an old session in the browser, or the wrong account being signed in.

Fix: Check which account you are logged in to, clear the browser's cache and cookies for Agorapulse, and try again.

PopMCP says Agorapulse offered no tools

Why: Agorapulse does not offer this sign-in on the Legacy plan, or the subscription is not active.

Fix: Check your plan and subscription in Agorapulse. If they are fine, try again in a few minutes.

PopMCP lists Your Agorapulse account and no workspaces

Why: PopMCP could not read your workspace list at that moment. The connection still works, and your AI names the workspace on each call.

Fix: Pick it to carry on, or connect again a little later to choose one workspace.

PopMCP says Agorapulse did not accept the API key

Why: The key was copied in part, or it was deleted.

Fix: Make a new key under Personal settings, API Keys, copy it straight away and connect again.

PopMCP says the key is real but Agorapulse refused it

Why: Agorapulse says API access comes with the Custom plan.

Fix: Connect by signing in, or ask Agorapulse about moving to the Custom plan at support@agorapulse.com.

Some profiles are missing, or the AI gets Permission Denied

Why: The connection can do only what its Agorapulse user can do.

Fix: Ask an organization owner or manager to widen your access, or to connect with their own account.

The AI says a reply is waiting for approval

Why: An approval workflow in Agorapulse holds that reply, and it has not gone out.

Fix: Ask a manager to approve it in Agorapulse. Do not send it again.

The AI says it cannot publish or schedule a post

Why: Agorapulse's tools save drafts only.

Fix: Open the draft in Agorapulse, review it and schedule it there.

The AI says this connection is bound to another workspace

Why: Each connection works on one workspace.

Fix: Connect the other workspace too, then ask your AI to use that connection.

The AI reports a limit on requests

Why: Agorapulse allows 500 requests every 30 minutes on a key and up to 1,000 every 30 minutes when signed in.

Fix: Wait a few minutes and try again, with a narrower question.
