Loop Returns

Connect Loop Returns to find and process returns and exchanges, check what can be returned, manage labels, and report on why shoppers return.

You paste one API key from the Developer tools page in Loop admin. The key belongs to one shop, and the scopes you tick decide what the AI can do.

Paid plan required before this connector works

No one reviews you, but Loop's help center says the Developers page, where API keys are made, may not be available on every plan. Loop's pricing page does not list which plans include it.

Typical wait
None once your plan includes it. A key works as soon as you generate it.
Cost
Loop does not publish API pricing. Ask your Merchant Success Manager or support@loopreturns.com.
Blocked until approved
The whole connector if you cannot see Developer tools in Loop admin. On a plan that has it, Loop still has to turn on the Return Create API, Commerce Data and Checkout+ for your shop before those tools answer.
Works meanwhile
Open Developer tools in Loop admin to check. If you can see API Keys there, you can connect today.

Where to apply: No application. Ask your Merchant Success Manager or email support@loopreturns.com about adding it to your plan.

  • Loop's REST OAuth is for partners, with credentials issued by hand. You do not need it: an API key reaches the label and webhook tools too.
  • Loop's own MCP server only accepts the clients Loop lists, so it is a separate thing from this connector.

Rate limits

Before you begin

  • A Loop admin login for the shop you want to connect, at admin.loopreturns.com
  • A Loop plan that includes the Developers page. Loop's help center says it may not be on every plan, so check that you can open Developer tools
  • A decision on what the AI may do: the scopes you tick on the key are the outer limit

This is a sketch of the page. Webhooks are listed above the API Keys section.

You can edit a key's scopes later without making a new key. Your list may show more scopes, depending on what your shop uses.

Copy the key

Copy the new key from the API Keys section and keep it safe. Anyone with it can do what its scopes allow.

Paste it into PopMCP

Open the Loop Returns connector in PopMCP. Paste the key into API key and click Connect. PopMCP checks it with Loop and shows your shop's name and the scopes on the key.

Connect in PopMCP

Open your workspace, choose Loop Returns in the marketplace, and fill in the connect dialog:

FieldWhat to enter
API keysecretIn Loop admin, open Returns management, Tools & integrations, Developer tools, then scroll to API Keys and choose Generate API key.Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on save and never shown again.

PopMCP verifies the credential against Loop Returns immediately. On success the connection flips to Verified and its MCP tools are provisioned.

Verify it worked

PopMCP marks Loop Returns Connected and shows your shop's name and the key's scopes. Asking for recent returns lists real return ids from that shop.

Troubleshooting

Loop did not accept this API key

Why: The key was cut off when pasted, was deleted in Developer tools, or belongs to a different environment.

Fix: Copy the key again from Developer tools, or generate a new one, and paste the whole value.

One tool says Unauthorized while others work

Why: Loop answers 401 both for a wrong key and for a good key missing a scope.

Fix: Ask the AI to run get_api_key_info to see the key's scopes. Add the missing scope to the same key in Developer tools.

You cannot find Developer tools in Loop admin

Why: Loop's help center says the Developers page may not be on every plan.

Fix: Ask your Merchant Success Manager or support@loopreturns.com about adding it.

Draft return tools answer draft-returns-not-enabled

Why: The Return Create API is not turned on for your shop.

Fix: Ask your Loop point of contact to enable it, and add the Draft Returns scopes to the key.

A return was processed but still shows as open

Why: Loop queues processing, so a successful answer means it was accepted, not finished.

Fix: Read the return again in a moment. It closes when processing finishes. A return.processing.failed webhook reports a failure.
