Eventbrite
Connect Eventbrite to create and publish events, set up tickets and discount codes, track orders and sales, find attendees, and manage venues.
You paste one value into PopMCP: the Private token of an API key in your Eventbrite account (Account Settings, Developer Links, API Keys). If your login belongs to several organizations, you then choose which one the connection is for.
- Setup time
- 2 min
- Auth
- API credentials
- API base URL
- https://www.eventbriteapi.com/v3
- Rate limits
- Per token: 2,000 calls an hour and 48,000 a day, plus 200 an hour each for creating or copying events, publishing events and creating event schedules (Eventbrite Rate Limits, updated June 2025). Over a limit Eventbrite answers 429 HIT_RATE_LIMIT.
Before you begin
- An Eventbrite account you manage events with. API access is free on every Eventbrite plan
- To change events, tickets and orders, a role in the organization that allows it (an admin can do everything)
- Refunds through the API are switched on by Eventbrite for selected organizations only; everything else works for every organizer
Get your credentials
Sign in and open Account Settings
Sign in at eventbrite.com with the login you manage your events with. Open the account menu at the top right and choose Account Settings.
Open API Keys under Developer Links
In the left sidebar, open Developer Links and click API Keys. If a key is already listed, skip to the step that shows its tokens.
API Keys
Keys and tokens for building with the Eventbrite API.
You have no API keys yet
Create one to get your private token.
Create an API key (only if none is listed)
Click Create API Key. Under Contact Information enter your first and last name. Under Application Details enter any Application URL (your website is fine), an Application Name such as PopMCP and a short Description. Leave OAuth Redirect URI empty. Tick I have read the terms of use and click Create Key. Eventbrite reviews nothing here: the key works at once.

Show the tokens and copy the Private token
On the key's row click Show API key, client secret and tokens. Four values appear. Copy the Private token: it is the one that acts for your account. The API key, the client secret and the public token are different values and are not accepted.

| Application | Created | |
|---|---|---|
| PopMCPAI assistant access to my events | Oct 25, 2026 | Show API key, client secret and tokens |
- API key
- 4XK2********
- Client secret
- QW8r****************************
- Private token
- ABCD**************** (copy this one)
- Public token
- ZYXW****************
Anyone with the private token can manage your events, so keep it to PopMCP. Deleting the key here disconnects it.
Paste the token into PopMCP and choose the organization
In PopMCP, paste the token into Private token and connect. PopMCP checks it and lists the Eventbrite organizations your login belongs to; choose the one this connection is for (each organization goes into its own workspace). The connection is then locked to that organization.
Connect in PopMCP
Open your workspace, choose Eventbrite in the marketplace, and fill in the connect dialog:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Private tokensecret | In Eventbrite: Account Settings, Developer Links, API Keys. If no key is listed, click Create API Key (your name, an application name, URL and description, tick the terms box, Create Key). Then click Show API key, client secret and tokens and copy the Private token. Stored encrypted.Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on save and never shown again. |
PopMCP verifies the credential against Eventbrite immediately. On success the connection flips to Verified and its MCP tools are provisioned.
Verify it worked
PopMCP marks the Eventbrite connection Verified with your organization's name and records the login's name and email. Asking the AI to list your upcoming events returns them with their status and dates.
Troubleshooting
"Eventbrite did not accept this token. Copy the Private token (not the API key, client secret or public token)..."
Why: The API key, client secret or public token was pasted, the token was copied incompletely, or the key was deleted.
Fix: Open **API Keys**, click **Show API key, client secret and tokens** and copy the **Private token** again, on its own.
"This Eventbrite login does not belong to any organization yet"
Why: The login has never created or managed an event, so Eventbrite has not made an organization for it.
Fix: Sign in at eventbrite.com and start creating an event once (Eventbrite creates the organization), then connect again.
"This Eventbrite login no longer belongs to the organization"
Why: You were removed from the organization the connection was made for, or it was closed.
Fix: Ask an admin of that organization to add you back, or reconnect Eventbrite and choose another organization.
Creating an event fails with NO_PACKAGE_SELECTED
Why: The organization has not chosen an Eventbrite package yet.
Fix: Choose one in Eventbrite when you create your first event, or ask the AI to read the current one with get_organization_package.
Publishing fails
Why: Eventbrite publishes an event only with a name, a description, an organizer, at least one ticket type and, for paid tickets, payout settings.
Fix: The error names what is missing. Add it (payout settings are under Manage Event, Payments in Eventbrite), then publish again.
Tools fail with 429
Why: Eventbrite allows 2,000 calls an hour and 48,000 a day per token, and 200 an hour for creating, copying and publishing events.
Fix: Wait and retry. Ask for fewer, larger pages and use the overview tools instead of one call per event.
