Instantly
Connect Instantly to run cold email campaigns, add and work leads, reply from the Unibox, warm up sending accounts, and track results.
You paste one value into PopMCP: an Instantly API v2 key with the all:all scope, shown once when you create it. An agency's admin-workspace key also reaches every client sub-workspace in its workspace group.
Paid plan required before this connector works
No one reviews you, but Instantly only answers API calls for workspaces on a paid plan. Its help center states that API access is available on all Outbound plans, and a workspace without an active paid plan gets HTTP 402 on every call.
- Typical wait
- None. The API answers as soon as the workspace has an active paid plan.
- Cost
- Growth, the entry Outreach plan, is listed at $47/month on instantly.ai/pricing, with a lower monthly rate when billed yearly. Hypergrowth ($97/month) and Light Speed ($358/month) cost more; Enterprise is custom.
- Blocked until approved
- Everything. PopMCP's connect check reads the workspace and gets 402, and every tool call fails the same way until the workspace is on a paid plan.
- Works meanwhile
- Read the API v2 documentation and plan which workspaces each PopMCP workspace should reach. Agencies can set up the workspace group and have each client accept the invitation, so the picker lists every sub-workspace on the first connect.
Where to apply: No application. Upgrade the workspace to a paid Outreach plan in Instantly, then create an API v2 key under Settings, Integrations, API Keys with the all:all scope and connect it in PopMCP.
- API v1 was deprecated on January 19, 2026. v1 keys do not work with v2, so create a new v2 key.
- The limit of 100 requests a second and 6,000 a minute is per workspace and shared by every key, so another integration on the same workspace uses up PopMCP's budget too.
- In a workspace group, a sub-workspace's own key reaches only that sub-workspace. Create the key in the admin workspace to connect every client from one key.
- Some older third-party guides say the API needs Hypergrowth. Instantly's own changelog opened API v2 to the Growth plan in January 2025.
- Setup time
- 3 min
- Auth
- API credentials
- API base URL
- https://api.instantly.ai/api/v2
- Rate limits
- 100 requests per second and 6,000 per minute per workspace, shared by every API key in that workspace (v1 and v2 together). Listing Unibox emails is limited to 20 requests a minute. Over a limit, calls fail with 429.
Before you begin
- An Instantly workspace on a paid plan. Instantly's help center says API access is available on all Outbound plans, and a workspace without an active paid plan answers API calls with HTTP 402.
- Access to the workspace's Settings, Integrations page, where API keys are created
- An API v2 key. Instantly deprecated API v1 on January 19, 2026, and v1 keys do not work with v2.
- For agencies: the admin workspace of your Instantly workspace group, if one key should reach every client. Only sub-workspaces that accepted the group invitation are listed.
Get your credentials
Open API Keys in your Instantly settings
Sign in at app.instantly.ai and open Settings, then Integrations. In the left sidebar of the Integrations page, click API Keys. If you run a workspace group, do this while you are in the admin workspace.
API Keys
Keys for the Instantly API v2. Each key carries the scopes you chose when you created it.
| Name | Scopes | Created |
|---|---|---|
| CRM syncCreated by Dana Reyes | leads:all | Aug 12, 2026 |

Existing keys are listed by name. Instantly never shows a key's value again after creation.
Create a key with the all:all scope
Click Create API Key. Enter a name such as PopMCP (the name is only for display), select the all:all scope, and click Create. A narrower key also connects as long as it includes workspaces:read, but tools outside its scopes return 403.

To change a key's scopes later, create a new key with the scopes you want and reconnect PopMCP with it.
Copy the key while it is on screen
Copy the key as soon as Instantly displays it. Instantly shows it only once and cannot recover it, so if you close the dialog first, delete that key and create another.

Copy the whole key. PopMCP also accepts it with a Bearer prefix or surrounding quotes and strips them.
Paste the key into PopMCP and pick the workspace
In PopMCP, paste the key into Instantly API key and click Connect Instantly. PopMCP lists the key's own workspace plus every accepted sub-workspace in your workspace group. Tick the workspaces to connect, choose the PopMCP workspace each one goes into, and click the Connect button under the list.
Connect in PopMCP
Open your workspace, choose Instantly in the marketplace, and fill in the connect dialog:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Instantly API keysecret | Instantly → Settings → Integrations → API Keys → Create API Key, scope all:all (at minimum include workspaces:read). Needs a paid Instantly plan. Stored encrypted and used server-side only.Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on save and never shown again. |
PopMCP verifies the credential against Instantly immediately. On success the connection flips to Verified and its MCP tools are provisioned.
Verify it worked
PopMCP marks the connection Verified and labels it Instantly · <workspace name>. Asking the AI to list your campaigns returns your real campaign names, and the workspace tool reports the workspace's id, name and plan.
Troubleshooting
Instantly rejected this API key
Why: Instantly answered 401: the key was cut short when copying, it was deleted in Instantly, or it is an old API v1 key.
Fix: Create a new key under Settings, Integrations, API Keys and paste it in full. API v1 keys never work with v2.
This Instantly workspace has no active paid plan
Why: Instantly answers API calls with HTTP 402 when the workspace has no active paid plan.
Fix: Upgrade the workspace to a paid plan in Instantly, then connect again.
This API key isn't allowed to read your workspace
Why: The key was created without workspaces:read (or a broader scope that includes it), so PopMCP's verify call got 403.
Fix: Create a replacement key with the all:all scope, or one that at least includes workspaces:read, and reconnect.
Some tools work but others return 403
Why: The key's scopes do not cover those tools. For example a key without emails:create cannot send Unibox replies.
Fix: Check the scope named in the failing tool's description, then create a key with all:all and reconnect.
The picker shows only one workspace
Why: The key belongs to a sub-workspace rather than the admin workspace, it lacks workspace_group_members:read, or the client workspaces have not accepted the group invitation.
Fix: Create the key inside the admin workspace with all:all, make sure each client accepted the invitation, and reconnect.
This API key can no longer act on the selected sub-workspace
Why: The sub-workspace left or was removed from your workspace group, so Instantly refuses the x-as-workspace switch PopMCP sends.
Fix: Re-add the sub-workspace to the group in Instantly, then reconnect Instantly in PopMCP and pick it again.
429 Too Many Requests
Why: The workspace crossed Instantly's limit of 100 requests a second or 6,000 a minute, which every key in the workspace shares. Listing Unibox emails is throttled further, to 20 requests a minute.
Fix: Wait a minute and retry. Ask the AI to filter Unibox reads (unread, received, one campaign) instead of paging through everything.
