Storyblok
Connect Storyblok to find, write and publish stories, read your content model, upload assets, and manage datasources, releases and workflows.
You paste one value into PopMCP: a Storyblok personal access token, made under My account, Account settings, Personal access tokens. You then choose which space the connection is for.

Before you begin
- A Storyblok account with at least one space, on any plan, the free Starter plan included
- A role in that space that allows what you want the AI to do: the token can never do more than you can

Open your personal access tokens
Sign in to Storyblok, open My account, then Account settings, then Personal access tokens. The link above opens that page directly. This is your account's page, not the Access Tokens page inside a space's settings, whose tokens only read content.
Personal access tokens
No personal access tokens yet
Generate a token to use the Management API.
Name the token and choose what it can reach
Click + Generate New Token and enter a name such as PopMCP. For every tool to work, choose Full user permission, or All spaces with every scope ticked. To limit it, choose Only selected spaces and just the scopes you want, and keep Spaces, because PopMCP uses it to list your spaces and read published content. An expiration date is optional: when it passes, you connect again with a new token.
Generate new token
Copy the token
Click Generate Token, then copy the token. Do this now: Storyblok shows it only once. After that you can rename it, and every other setting is read-only.
Personal access tokens
Paste the token into PopMCP and choose the space
In PopMCP, paste the token into Personal access token and connect. PopMCP checks it, lists the spaces it reaches across Storyblok's regions, and you choose the space this connection is for (each one goes into its own PopMCP workspace). The connection is then locked to it. You never need to pick a region.
Connect in PopMCP
Open your workspace, choose Storyblok in the marketplace, and fill in the connect dialog:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Personal access tokensecret | In Storyblok: My account, Account settings, Personal access tokens, Generate New Token. Give it a name, generate it, then copy it. This is not the Access Tokens page inside a space. Stored encrypted.Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on save and never shown again. |
PopMCP verifies the credential against Storyblok immediately. On success the connection flips to Verified and its MCP tools are provisioned.
Verify it worked
PopMCP marks the Storyblok connection Verified with your space's name and records its plan and data region. Asking the AI for an overview of the space returns its languages, how many stories and assets it holds, and its content types.
Troubleshooting
Storyblok did not accept this token
Why:
Fix: It expired, was revoked, or was not copied whole. Tokens cannot be viewed twice, so generate a new one and paste that. Make sure it is a personal access token from your account, not a token from a space's Access Tokens page.
This token reaches no spaces
Why:
Fix: The token was limited to no space or left out the Spaces scope, or your account has no space yet. Generate a new token with the Spaces scope and at least one space.
A tool says it needs a scope
Why:
Fix: Scopes cannot be changed on an existing token. Generate a new one that includes that scope and connect again.
Reading published content says the token may not look it up
Why:
Fix: PopMCP finds the space's own read-only token using your personal token, which needs the Spaces scope. Generate a new token with that scope. If the space has no Preview token, create one under Settings, Access Tokens.
Storyblok is limiting requests
Why:
Fix: The Management API allows 3 requests a second on the Starter plan and 6 on paid plans. Wait a few seconds and try again.
