Loox
Connect Loox to read product and store reviews, customer photos and videos, ratings per product, and reviewer details for your Shopify store.
You paste two values into PopMCP from one page in the Loox admin: your Public Store ID and an API key. Loox says its API is available on the Convert and Unlimited plans.
Paid plan required before this connector works
No one reviews you, but Loox says its API is available on the Convert and Unlimited plans.
- Typical wait
- None once the store is on one of those plans: a key takes about a minute
- Cost
- Loox's help article names the plans but not the prices. Its pricing page shows what your store would pay.
- Blocked until approved
- Everything, if your plan does not include the API: PopMCP will say Loox did not accept the API key.
- Works meanwhile
- You can read Loox's API reference at developers.loox.app/documentation.
Where to apply: No form. Move the store to the Convert or Unlimited plan in Loox, then open Settings, API Keys in the Loox admin and click Generate.
- Loox shows a key only once. If you lose it, revoke it and generate another.
- A store can have up to five keys. The Generate button is disabled at the limit, so revoke one first.
- Sorting reviews by Loox's visual quality score needs Smart Visual Sorting, which Loox places on its Convert plan.
- AI translated reviews are only on plans that include them, and Loox does not name those plans in its API reference.
- Setup time
- 2 min
- Auth
- API credentials
- API base URL
- https://api.loox.io/api/v1
- Rate limits
- Loox allows 120 requests a minute per API key on its Merchant API, then answers 429. Wait a minute and try again.
Before you begin
- A Shopify store using Loox on the Convert or Unlimited plan, which Loox says the API needs
- Access to the Loox admin for that store
- No app, redirect URL or review is needed
Get your credentials
Open API Keys in Loox
Open your Loox admin and go to Settings, then API Keys.
API Keys
Copy your Public Store ID
The ID is shown at the top of the page, where Loox calls it publicStoreId. Copy all of it, including the part after the dot, and paste it into Public Store ID in PopMCP. It is safe to share: Loox says it unlocks no private data on its own.
API Keys
Make an API key
Click Generate and copy the new key straight away, because Loox shows it in full only once. If Loox asks for a name, call it PopMCP. Paste the key into API key in PopMCP. A store can have up to five keys, and the button is disabled at the limit, so revoke an old one first if you need to.
API Keys
Connect in PopMCP
Click connect. PopMCP tries your Public Store ID and key straight away by reading one review, and tells you which of the two Loox did not accept.
Connect in PopMCP
Open your workspace, choose Loox in the marketplace, and fill in the connect dialog:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Public Store IDtext | At the top of Settings, API Keys in the Loox admin. Copy all of it, including the part after the dot. |
| API keysecret | On the same page, click Generate and copy the new key. Loox shows it only once. Stored encrypted.Encrypted with AES-256-GCM on save and never shown again. |
PopMCP verifies the credential against Loox immediately. On success the connection flips to Verified and its MCP tools are provisioned.
Verify it worked
PopMCP marks the Loox connection Verified, and names it after your store once a review shows its address. Ask the AI for your average rating last month or your latest reviews, and it answers from your store.
Troubleshooting
"Loox did not accept this API key."
Why: The key was copied in part or has been revoked, or the store's plan does not include the API.
Fix: Click **Generate** under **Settings**, **API Keys** in the Loox admin and paste the new key. Loox says the API is available on the Convert and Unlimited plans.
"Loox did not recognize this Public Store ID"
Why: The ID was copied in part, or the store is not active in Loox.
Fix: Copy all of the ID at the top of **Settings**, **API Keys** again, including the part after the dot.
"That is your Public Store ID" or "That is an API key"
Why: The two values went into each other's fields.
Fix: The Public Store ID has a dot in the middle. The key is what Loox shows you after you click **Generate**.
A tool with published in its name, or a rating summary, says Loox refused it because of where the request came from
Why: Loox's Storefront API checks where a request comes from, and is built for your own store's pages.
Fix: Nothing is wrong with your connection. Ask for the same reviews through the merchant tools. loox_get_rating_breakdown works out the same counts and average.
Asking the AI to reply to, publish or hide a review does nothing
Why: Loox says its API is read-only. Reviews can only be changed in the Loox admin.
Fix: Do it in the Loox admin. The AI can draft a reply for you to paste in.
A review the AI cannot see
Why: Lists show published reviews unless told otherwise.
Fix: Ask for pending reviews, or for reviews of every status.
Sorting by AI score fails
Why: That sort needs Smart Visual Sorting, which Loox places on its Convert plan.
Fix: Sort by date, rating or featured instead.
