# Shopee setup for PopMCP

You create an app in the Shopee Open Platform Console and Shopee approves it. You enter its Live Partner ID and Live Key in PopMCP, then sign in on Shopee's page and pick your shop.

- Auth: OAuth authorization
- Setup time: 20 min, plus Shopee's review
- API base URL: https://partner.shopeemobile.com
- Credentials screen: https://open.shopee.com/console
- Provider docs: https://open.shopee.com/developer-guide/20

## Approval required before this works

Shopee has to approve your developer profile, then review your app's Go Live, before it works on a real shop. Each market sets who qualifies: Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, for example, take Mall or Managed sellers, and Singapore and Indonesia also take sellers with at least 30 orders in the last 30 days.

- Typical wait: Shopee says seller profiles take 3 working days, or 7 in Indonesia, and that it reviews an app 24 hours after you submit its Go Live. Third-party Partner Platform profiles take 10 working days, or 14 in Indonesia.
- Cost: Shopee's guides mention no fee for a developer account or an app.
- Blocked until approved: Every call to a real shop. Until the app is Online, its Test Partner ID and Test Key work only in the sandbox.
- Works meanwhile: Create the app and test it in the sandbox with the Test Partner ID and Test Key, using a test shop from the console.

## Before you begin

- A Shopee seller account that meets Shopee's criteria for your market. Shopee lists these in its Developer account registration guide: Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, for example, take Mall or Managed sellers.
- The login of that seller account, to verify it and to approve the app. A sub-account cannot sign in on the authorization page.
- An email address for the developer account. Shopee says it cannot be changed after you register.
- PopMCP's redirect URL from the connect form: https://app.popmcp.com/api/providers/shopee/callback

## Get your credentials

### 1. Sign up and verify your seller account

Go to open.shopee.com and choose Log In, then Sign up. Enter your email, type the code Shopee sends you, and set a password. Open the Console, then App Management and App List, and choose your account type. If you sell on Shopee, pick Shopee Seller, log in with your seller account to verify it, then pick Individual Seller or Registered Business Seller. Fill in the details and select Submit. Leave Key Account Manager's Email blank if you have no Shopee account manager.

Screen: https://open.shopee.com/console

### 2. Create a Seller In House System app

Once Shopee approves your profile, go back to App List and select Create App. Under Basic Information, set App Type to Seller In House System, the type for your own shops, which reaches the most APIs. Give it an App Name, an App Description and an App Logo. On the app's page, set the Live Redirect URL Domain to `app.popmcp.com`. Shopee refuses the sign-in if this differs. Your app starts with a Test Partner ID and Test Key, which only work with sandbox.

Screen: https://open.shopee.com/console

### 3. Submit the app to Go Live

In App List, select the app, then Go Live, and fill in the page. Under the PII Necessity Declaration, leave Does this App require buyer PII access? turned off. With it on, Shopee accepts calls only from the IP addresses you declare, and buyers' details are the only thing it adds. If the form asks for your IT assets, choose IP address(es) unavailable and give a reason. Submit. Shopee says it reviews the app 24 hours after you submit, and that this cannot be sped up.

Screen: https://open.shopee.com/console

### 4. Copy the Live Partner ID and Live Key

When the app's status reads Online, open it and find App Key. Copy the Live Partner ID, which is all numbers, and the Live Key. Don't use the Test ones: they only work with sandbox. If the key ever leaks, select Edit and Reset beside it, then connect again in PopMCP.

Screen: https://open.shopee.com/console

### 5. Enter both in PopMCP and sign in

In PopMCP, open Shopee in the marketplace and enter the Live Partner ID and Live Key. Under More options, leave Environment and Sign in as blank unless your developer account is on Shopee's Brazil or mainland China site. Select Sign in with Shopee, log in with your shop account or main account, type the code Shopee sends your phone and select Confirm Authorization. Shopee asks how long to authorize: choose up to 365 days. If you sell cross-border from a main account, tick Auth Merchant too. Back in PopMCP, pick the shop to connect.

Screen: https://app.popmcp.com

## Fields PopMCP asks for

- Live Partner ID (clientId) [required]: On your app's page in the Shopee Open Platform Console, under App Key. It is all numbers. It appears once Shopee has approved your app's Go Live.
- Live Key (clientSecret) [required]: Next to the Live Partner ID. It is used only on our server to sign requests and is stored encrypted.
- Environment (environment): Leave blank for most sellers. Type brazil or china if your developer account is on those Open Platform sites, or sandbox with your Test Partner ID and Test Key.
- Sign in as (authType): Leave blank for a shop. Type user for an affiliate's video and livestream account, or principal for a Brand Portal administrator.

## Callback URL to register

## Verify

PopMCP shows Shopee as Connected under your shop's name and region, such as Toko Satu (SG), and shopee_get_shop_overview returns the shop's status, its performance and the orders waiting to ship.

## Troubleshooting

### "The domain of redirect_uri is not consistent with the Redirect URL Domain declared in console"

Cause: The Live Redirect URL Domain on your app differs from PopMCP's address.

Fix: Set the **Live Redirect URL Domain** on your app to `app.popmcp.com` and try again.

### "Shopee would not complete this sign-in"

Cause: The Partner ID and key are from different apps, you used the Test ones, or the code expired. Shopee's code works once and lasts 10 minutes.

Fix: Check the app's status is **Online**, copy the **Live Partner ID** and **Live Key** again and start over.

### "Shopee rejected this Partner ID and Partner Key"

Cause: The key was reset or mistyped, or the app is on another site.

Fix: Copy the **Live Key** again. For sandbox, or a developer account on Shopee's Brazil or mainland China site, fill in **Environment** under **More options**.

### "Your app only accepts calls from declared addresses"

Cause: The app's PII Necessity Declaration is on, so Shopee only accepts its declared IP addresses.

Fix: Turn the declaration off on the app and resubmit it. Buyer details then come back masked.

### A tool says "This app type cannot use this tool"

Cause: Each app type has its own API permissions. An ERP System app has no Ads tools, and Video, Livestream and Brand Portal need their own types.

Fix: See **API Permission** on the app's page. For your own shops, use a **Seller In House System** app.

### A tool says it "works on a merchant"

Cause: Global products belong to a merchant, and Shopee gives a merchant and each shop separate access. A workspace holds one Shopee connection.

Fix: Sign in with your main account, tick **Auth Merchant**, and connect the merchant in its own workspace.

### "Shopee no longer accepts this connection's sign-in"

Cause: The connection went unused for 30 days, the authorization period ended, or the seller removed the app.

Fix: Connect Shopee again and sign in. The connection page shows when the authorization ends.

### Buyer names and addresses show as masked

Cause: Shopee masks them unless the app holds access to personal data.

Fix: This is normal, and orders otherwise work as usual. Shopee's Requesting Access to Sensitive Data guide explains how to ask for them.
