# Refersion setup for PopMCP

Nothing has to be typed into PopMCP. You click Authorize with Refersion, sign in to Refersion and approve PopMCP. There is no developer app or callback URL to set up. Under More options you can add the Public Key and Secret Key (to create affiliates and report orders) and a GraphQL token (to read past payments), or use a Client ID and Client Secret instead of signing in. All of them come from Settings, Integrations, Refersion API Keys.

- Auth: OAuth authorization
- Setup time: 1 min

## Approval required before this works

No one reviews you, but Refersion sells API access by plan. Its pricing page lists API access on Growth and describes Scale as including everything; the Launch plan does not list it.

- Typical wait: None. The connection works as soon as the plan includes API access.
- Cost: From Refersion's pricing page: Growth is $199/month, or $159/month billed yearly, plus 2% of affiliate-driven sales. Scale is priced by Refersion's sales team.
- Blocked until approved: All tools. Webhook tools and product-level commissions can also depend on the plan, and answer 402 when it does not include them.
- Works meanwhile: Nothing without API access. Check your plan under billing in Refersion before connecting.

## Before you begin

- A Refersion merchant account on a plan that includes API access. Refersion's pricing page lists it on Growth and describes Scale as including everything
- A login that manages the Refersion account you want to connect
- Pop-up blockers must allow the Refersion sign-in window to open
- Only if the AI should change anything: an owner or admin in PopMCP to allow write actions

## Get your credentials

### 1. Start the connection from PopMCP

Open the Refersion connector in PopMCP and click Authorize with Refersion. There are no fields to fill in: no API key, no developer app and nothing to register.

### 2. Sign in to Refersion and approve

The sign-in window opens on auth.refersion.com. Sign in with the login that manages the account the AI should work with, then approve PopMCP. If your login reaches more than one store, pick the account there.

### 3. Add the optional keys

Optional. To let the AI create affiliates, add per-SKU commission, cancel an order's commission, total conversions, fetch report links or report orders, open Settings, Integrations, Refersion API Keys in Refersion and copy the Public Key and Secret Key. To let it read past payments and marketing assets, generate a Refersion GraphQL Token on the same page. Paste them in PopMCP under More options before you click Authorize.

### 4. Or use a Client ID and Secret instead

Prefer not to sign in? On the same page, in the OAuth section, choose Generate OAuth Client and copy the Client ID and Client Secret. The secret is shown only once. In PopMCP open More options, paste both and connect. Keep this client just for PopMCP: asking Refersion for a new token cancels the last one of its kind, so another integration sharing the client would stop working.

### 5. Check it is connected

The Refersion card in PopMCP reads Connected, with the account name and a note on which optional keys are on. Every Refersion endpoint is a tool. New connections start read-only, so changes wait until an owner or admin allows write actions in PopMCP.

## Fields PopMCP asks for

- How you connect (connectionType): Click Authorize, sign in to Refersion and approve. There is nothing to copy or paste. Your Refersion plan needs to include API access.
- Public Key (to create affiliates and report orders) (publicKey): Optional. Copy it from Settings, Integrations, Refersion API Keys in Refersion. With the Secret Key it lets your AI create affiliates, add product commissions, cancel order commissions and report orders.
- Secret Key (secretKey): Optional. Goes with the Public Key above.
- GraphQL token (to read payments) (graphqlToken): Optional. Generate it under Refersion GraphQL Token on the same page. It lets your AI read past payments to affiliates and marketing assets.
- Client ID (instead of signing in) (apiClientId): Only if you prefer not to sign in: choose Generate OAuth Client on the same page and paste both values. Keep this client just for PopMCP, because a new token cancels the last one.
- Client Secret (apiClientSecret): Shown once by Refersion when the client is made.

## Verify

The Refersion card in PopMCP shows Connected with the account name. Asking the AI for the connection profile (`refersion_connection_profile`) shows which optional keys are on, and asking how the program is doing (`refersion_program_summary`) returns affiliate and conversion counts rather than an authorization error.

## Troubleshooting

### The sign-in window never opens

Cause: A pop-up blocker is stopping the Refersion sign-in window.

Fix: Allow pop-ups for PopMCP in your browser and click Authorize with Refersion again.

### "Your Refersion plan does not include API access"

Cause: API access is listed from the Growth plan up.

Fix: Upgrade in Refersion, then connect again.

### "Refersion did not accept that Client ID and Client Secret"

Cause: A value was copied in part, or the client was revoked. The secret cannot be shown again.

Fix: Generate a new OAuth client under Settings, Integrations, Refersion API Keys and paste the new pair.

### "Refersion did not accept the Public Key and Secret Key"

Cause: A key was copied in part or replaced.

Fix: Copy both again from Settings, Integrations, Refersion API Keys, or leave both empty.

### "Your Refersion sign-in has ended"

Cause: The sign-in expired or PopMCP's access was removed in Refersion.

Fix: Reconnect Refersion in PopMCP: one click on Authorize with Refersion.

### Creating an affiliate says the Public Key and Secret Key are missing

Cause: Those calls use Refersion's older API, which a sign-in does not reach.

Fix: Reconnect Refersion and paste both keys under More options.

### Webhook tools answer 402

Cause: Your Refersion plan does not include webhooks.

Fix: Upgrade in Refersion. Endpoints you already made are kept and come back when the plan includes webhooks again.
