# Rebuy setup for PopMCP

You paste one value into PopMCP: an API key from Settings, API Keys, in the Rebuy admin. PopMCP finds your store from it.

- Auth: API credentials
- Setup time: 1 min
- API base URL: https://rebuyengine.com/api/v1
- Credentials screen: https://rebuyengine.com/account/keys
- Provider docs: https://developers.rebuyengine.com/guides/getting-started/

## Before you begin

- A Rebuy account for your Shopify store
- Access to the Rebuy admin at rebuyengine.com
- No app, redirect URL or review is needed: the key is the whole setup

## Get your credentials

### 1. Open API Keys in the Rebuy admin

Sign in to Rebuy, then open Settings and API Keys. If you have more than one store, make sure you are in the right one first: a key belongs to one store.

Screen: https://rebuyengine.com/account/keys

### 2. Copy a key

Copy an existing key. If the list is empty, click Create new API Key and copy the new one. Rebuy keys have no access levels, so any key works.

Screen: https://rebuyengine.com/account/keys

### 3. Paste it into PopMCP

In PopMCP, paste it into API key and connect. PopMCP checks it with Rebuy, finds your store from it and shows the store's name. If it shows Rebuy store with no name, open More options and add your store's myshopify domain, such as example-brand.myshopify.com. Product tools work either way: Smart Cart and Smart Flows tools need the store.

## Fields PopMCP asks for

- API key (apiKey) [required]: In the Rebuy admin: Settings, then API Keys. Copy a key, or click Create new API Key. Stored encrypted.
- Store domain (optional) (shopDomain): Usually found for you from the key. Add it if the connection shows no store name, which can happen with a store that has no products yet.
- Meta Shops key (optional) (metaApiKey): Only for the Meta Shops recommendation tools, which ask for a private key. Ask Rebuy for it if you need them. Stored encrypted.

## Verify

PopMCP marks the Rebuy connection Verified with your store's name. Asking the AI for your top sellers returns your products with their links and prices.

## Troubleshooting

### Rebuy did not accept that API key

Cause: undefined

Fix: The key was not copied whole or was removed. Copy it again from Settings, API Keys, in the Rebuy admin.

### The connection shows Rebuy store with no name

Cause: undefined

Fix: PopMCP could not work out the store from the key, which can happen with a store that has no products yet. Connect again and add the myshopify domain under More options.

### Rebuy does not know the store

Cause: undefined

Fix: Use the myshopify domain, such as example-brand.myshopify.com, not your store's own web address. It is on the Domains page in Shopify.

### Smart Search or Smart Collections tools fail

Cause: undefined

Fix: Those features may be off for your store. Ask the AI to read your store's Rebuy setup, which shows whether each one is on, and turn them on in the Rebuy admin.

### Meta Shops tools are refused

Cause: undefined

Fix: They ask for a private key. Add it under More options, and ask Rebuy for it if you do not have one.

### A recently viewed list comes back empty

Cause: undefined

Fix: Rebuy only has views it was told about. The list needs the shopper's customer ID or the same session ID sent with their events.
