# Printify setup for PopMCP

One Printify Personal Access Token, generated from My profile then Connections and shown only once at creation.

- Auth: API credentials
- Setup time: 3 min
- API base URL: https://api.printify.com/v1
- Credentials screen: https://printify.com/app/account/api
- Provider docs: https://developers.printify.com/#authentication

## Before you begin

- A Printify account on any plan, including the free one
- Access to My profile then Connections, because tokens belong to the signed-in user rather than to a store
- At least one store connected to the account, otherwise the shops, products and orders tools return nothing

## Get your credentials

### 1. Open Connections

Sign in at printify.com/app and open My profile, then Connections. You can also go straight to `printify.com/app/account/api`.

Screen: https://printify.com/app/account/api

### 2. Generate a new token

Click Generate on the Connections page. Type a name you will recognise later, such as `PopMCP`.

Screen: https://printify.com/app/account/api

### 3. Tick every access scope

Tick all eleven access scopes so every PopMCP tool works, then click Generate token.

### 4. Copy the token before you close the dialog

Click Copy to clipboard in the dialog that opens and paste the token somewhere safe. Click Close only once you have it.

### 5. Paste the token into PopMCP

Open the Printify connector in PopMCP and paste the value into Personal Access Token, then click Connect.

## Fields PopMCP asks for

- Personal Access Token (apiToken) [required]: In Printify go to the dashboard → My Profile → Connections → generate a Personal Access Token, tick ALL access scopes (shops, catalog, products, orders, uploads, webhooks), and copy it immediately (it is shown only once). Tokens are valid for one year. Sent as an Authorization: Bearer header, stored encrypted, used server-side only. The connection is locked to this token's merchant account.

## Verify

PopMCP marks the Printify connector Connected and the shop picker fills with the stores on your Printify account. Asking for your Printify shops returns real store names and ids.

## Troubleshooting

### 401 Unauthorized on every call

Cause: The token was truncated on paste, or it has passed its one-year expiry.

Fix: Generate a fresh token under My profile then Connections and paste the whole string with no leading or trailing spaces.

### 403 Forbidden on one group of tools only

Cause: The token was created without the matching access scope ticked.

Fix: Scopes are fixed at creation. Generate a replacement token with every scope ticked and swap it into PopMCP.

### The token dialog was closed before copying

Cause: Printify shows the token string once, in the dialog that appears straight after generation.

Fix: Revoke the token on the Connections list and generate a new one.

### 429 Too Many Requests

Cause: You went past 600 requests per minute globally, 100 per minute against the catalog, or 200 product publishes per 30 minutes.

Fix: Wait for the window to reset and space out bulk operations.
