# MailerLite setup for PopMCP

You end up pasting a single MailerLite API token, created under Integrations and shown only once.

- Auth: API credentials
- Setup time: 2 min
- API base URL: https://connect.mailerlite.com/api
- Credentials screen: https://dashboard.mailerlite.com/integrations/api
- Provider docs: https://developers.mailerlite.com/docs/#mailerlite-api

## Before you begin

- A MailerLite account on any plan. The API is available on Free and paid plans.
- A user who can open the Integrations area of the account
- The new MailerLite dashboard at dashboard.mailerlite.com. Tokens from the legacy Classic account do not work with the new API.

## Get your credentials

### 1. Open the API integration

Sign in at dashboard.mailerlite.com and click Integrations in the left sidebar. Find the MailerLite API card and click Use next to API.

Screen: https://dashboard.mailerlite.com/integrations

### 2. Generate a new token

On the API screen, click Generate new token.

Screen: https://dashboard.mailerlite.com/integrations/api

### 3. Name the token and set IP restrictions

In the Create new API token dialog, type a name such as `PopMCP` in the Name field. Leave Allow any IP address selected, then click Create token.

### 4. Copy the token

Click Copy to put the token on your clipboard, or Download to save it as a text file. Do this before you close the dialog.

### 5. Paste the token into PopMCP

In PopMCP, paste the value into the API token field and click Save.

## Fields PopMCP asks for

- API token (apiToken) [required]: In MailerLite go to Integrations → MailerLite API → Generate new token (give it a name). Copy it immediately. MailerLite shows it only once. It's sent as the Authorization: Bearer header and stored encrypted; used server-side only.

## Verify

The MailerLite connector in PopMCP flips to Connected, and listing subscriber groups returns your real group names instead of an error.

## Troubleshooting

### 401 Unauthorized

Cause: The token was truncated on copy, has been revoked, or belongs to a legacy MailerLite Classic account.

Fix: Generate a fresh token at dashboard.mailerlite.com/integrations/api on the new dashboard and paste the whole string with no surrounding spaces.

### 403 Forbidden from a working token

Cause: The token was created with an IP allowlist that does not include PopMCP's egress addresses.

Fix: Create a replacement token with **Allow any IP address** selected, then delete the restricted one.

### 429 Too Many Requests

Cause: You crossed the 120 requests per minute account limit, or the 5 per minute limit on import endpoints.

Fix: Wait for the interval named in the Retry-After header. If a bulk import is running, let it finish first.

### The token screen is empty or missing

Cause: You are still in the old MailerLite Classic interface.

Fix: Switch to the new dashboard at dashboard.mailerlite.com. The new API lives at connect.mailerlite.com and only accepts tokens minted there.

### You closed the dialog without copying

Cause: MailerLite shows the token value once and never redisplays it.

Fix: Delete the token from the API tokens list and generate a replacement.
