# Fireflies setup for PopMCP

You end up pasting the single API key shown on the Developer Settings page in Fireflies into PopMCP.

- Auth: API credentials
- Setup time: 2 min
- API base URL: https://api.fireflies.ai/graphql
- Credentials screen: https://app.fireflies.ai/integrations/custom/fireflies
- Provider docs: https://docs.fireflies.ai/getting-started/quickstart

## Before you begin

- A Fireflies account you can sign in to at app.fireflies.ai
- A Business or Enterprise plan for real workloads. Free is capped at 50 API requests a day and Pro at 500.
- Your workspace admin must not have disabled Integrations for the team

## Get your credentials

### 1. Open Integrations and find the Fireflies API card

Sign in at app.fireflies.ai and click Integrations in the left sidebar. Type `Fireflies API` into the search field and open that card.

Screen: https://app.fireflies.ai/integrations

### 2. Click Get API Key

Click Get API Key on the Fireflies API page. Fireflies redirects you to Developer Settings.

Screen: https://app.fireflies.ai/integrations/custom/fireflies

### 3. Copy the key from Developer Settings

Copy the value shown under API Key. You can come back to it any time through Settings, the Personal tab, then MCP & Dev Tools and Developer Settings.

Screen: https://app.fireflies.ai/settings

### 4. Paste the key into PopMCP

Open the Fireflies connector in PopMCP, paste the key into API key, and save.

## Fields PopMCP asks for

- API key (apiKey) [required]: In Fireflies, open Integrations, choose Fireflies API, and copy the API key shown there. Stored encrypted and used server side only. The key inherits your Fireflies permissions and plan, and stays valid until you regenerate it. Free plans allow 50 requests a day and Pro 500 a day, so a Business plan is best for heavy use.

## Verify

The Fireflies connector in PopMCP shows Connected, and a meetings-search tool returns your recent Fireflies transcripts with their titles and dates.

## Troubleshooting

### 401 Unauthorized

Cause: The key was truncated when copied, or it was regenerated in Fireflies after you saved it.

Fix: Re-copy the key from Settings, Personal, MCP & Dev Tools, Developer Settings, and paste it into PopMCP again.

### The Integrations card shows no key

Cause: Fireflies moved the key out of the integration card and into Developer Settings.

Fix: Click Get API Key on the card, or go straight to Settings and open Developer Settings under MCP & Dev Tools.

### Rate limit errors after a handful of calls

Cause: The account is on Free at 50 requests a day, or Pro at 500 a day.

Fix: Upgrade to Business or Enterprise, which allow up to 60 requests a minute.

### Sending the notetaker into a live call fails repeatedly

Cause: The Add to Live endpoint is limited to 3 requests per 20 minutes.

Fix: Wait out the window rather than retrying. Each retry consumes one of the three.

### Sharing a recording returns an error

Cause: The Share Meeting endpoint allows 10 requests an hour, with up to 50 email addresses per request.

Fix: Batch recipients into one request instead of sending one request per person.

### Tools return no meetings even though the connection works

Cause: The key carries only your own Fireflies permissions, and the meetings belong to teammates.

Fix: Have the meetings shared with your user, or connect with an account that can see them.
