# Awin setup for PopMCP You paste one value into PopMCP: your personal Awin API token, from API Credentials in your user menu. If your login belongs to several publisher or advertiser accounts, you then choose which one the connection is for. - Auth: API credentials - Setup time: 1 min - API base URL: https://api.awin.com - Credentials screen: https://ui.awin.com/awin-api - Provider docs: https://help.awin.com/apidocs/api-authentication ## Before you begin - An Awin login with access to a publisher or advertiser account - Nothing to apply for as a publisher: your token works as soon as you show it - As an advertiser, the Accelerate or Advanced plan, or an Access login listed on more than one programme ## Get your credentials ### 1. Open API Credentials Sign in to Awin. Open your user menu at the top right and select API Credentials, or go straight to ui.awin.com/awin-api. You need at least viewer access to the account you want to reach, and Awin asks for admin access to set up a token, so ask your admin if you do not see your account. Screen: https://ui.awin.com/awin-api ### 2. Show and copy your token Enter the password you use to sign in and select Show my API token. Awin creates the token the first time and shows it. Copy it. It works like a password and reaches every Awin account your login belongs to, so keep it out of chats and shared files. Screen: https://help.awin.com/apidocs/api-authentication ### 3. Paste the token into PopMCP and choose the account In PopMCP, paste the token into API token and connect. PopMCP checks it and lists the Awin accounts your login belongs to; choose the one this connection is for (each one goes into its own PopMCP workspace). The connection is then locked to that account. A change to your access in Awin can take up to 10 minutes to reach the API. ### 4. Optional: add a product feed key Only for publishers who want Awin's standard product feeds. Enhanced feeds need no key. In Awin, open Toolbox, then Create-a-Feed, choose a language and a feed, go through column selection, and copy the generated link. In PopMCP, open More options and paste the whole link into Product feed key. PopMCP takes the key out of it. This key is separate from your API token. Enter your password, choose Show my API token, then copy it. Stored encrypted. - Product feed key (optional) (feedApiKey): Only for publishers reading Awin's standard product feeds. In Awin, open Toolbox, then Create-a-Feed, and paste the download link. Enhanced feeds need no key. Stored encrypted. ## Verify PopMCP marks the Awin connection Verified with the account's name, and records whether it is a publisher or an advertiser and your role in it. Asking the AI how much commission is pending returns totals by currency. ## Troubleshooting ### Awin did not accept this token Cause: undefined Fix: The token was revoked or not copied whole. Open API Credentials in Awin, enter your password, and copy it again. If it was revoked, a new one is made when you show it. ### This token can no longer open the Awin account Cause: undefined Fix: Your login lost access to that account. Ask an admin of the account to add you again. A change of access can take up to 10 minutes to reach the API. ### Awin allows 20 API calls a minute Cause: undefined Fix: The limit is per person and covers everything using your token, including any other tool you connected with it. Wait a minute and try again. ### Advertiser tools are refused with 403 Cause: undefined Fix: Awin offers its advertiser APIs on the Accelerate and Advanced plans. Check your plan with your Awin contact. ### A tracking link comes back with an unknown error Cause: undefined Fix: Some advertisers do not allow the link builder, and a page outside the advertiser's valid domains is refused. Ask the AI to check the programme's details. ### A report says region is required Cause: undefined Fix: Most Awin reports cover one region at a time. Name one, such as GB, or ask for a summary across regions, which PopMCP merges for you. ### Standard product feeds ask for a key Cause: undefined Fix: They use a separate key from Create-a-Feed.
