# Arcmira setup for PopMCP

Nothing is typed into PopMCP. You click Authorize with Arcmira, sign in to Arcmira and approve PopMCP on Arcmira's consent screen. PopMCP is already a registered Arcmira client, so there is no API key, developer app or callback URL to set up. A free Arcmira account works. If you prefer a key, an arc_sk_ key from Dashboard, API keys can be pasted under More options instead.

- Auth: OAuth authorization
- Setup time: 1 min
- API base URL: https://api.arcmira.com/v1
- Credentials screen: https://arcmira.com/sign-in
- Provider docs: https://arcmira.com/docs/authentication

## Before you begin

- An Arcmira account. The Free plan works: it includes 1,000 credits a month and leaves out media from the newest 30 days. Sign up at arcmira.com/sign-up if you have none
- If you belong to an Arcmira team: which account's credits the AI should use (your own or the team's)
- Pop-up blockers must allow the Arcmira sign-in window to open
- Only if the AI should create or change monitors: an owner or admin in PopMCP to allow write actions

## Get your credentials

### 1. Start the connection from PopMCP

Open the Arcmira connector in PopMCP and click Authorize with Arcmira. There are no fields to fill in: no API key, no developer app and nothing to register. To keep the connection strictly read-only, open More options first and untick Create and change monitors.

### 2. Sign in to Arcmira in the pop-up

The sign-in window opens on arcmira.com. Sign in with the Arcmira account the AI should search with. A new Free account works too.

### 3. Approve PopMCP on Arcmira's consent screen

Arcmira shows a consent screen naming PopMCP: read access and, unless you unticked it, monitor changes. If you are in a team, pick under Uses the credits of which account pays for what the AI reads. Click Allow.

### 4. Or paste an API key instead

Prefer a key? Instead of signing in, open Dashboard → API keys in Arcmira, click Create key and copy it (it is shown once and starts with `arc_sk_`). In PopMCP open More options, paste it into Arcmira API key and connect. A key never expires and carries every scope.

Screen: https://arcmira.com/dashboard/api

### 5. Check the connection in PopMCP

The Arcmira card in PopMCP reads Connected, with the account name, plan and credits left. Every Arcmira endpoint is a tool, plus `arcmira_find_clips`, which returns passages with timestamped links and the transcript around each in one call. Monitor changes wait until an owner or admin allows write actions in PopMCP.

## Fields PopMCP asks for

- How you connect (connectionType): Click Authorize, sign in to Arcmira and approve. There is nothing to copy or paste. A free Arcmira account works (1,000 credits a month).
- Permissions (scopes): Reading (search, mentions, sponsors, transcripts, your monitors) is always included. Monitor changes are only used once write actions are allowed on the connection.
- Arcmira API key (instead of signing in) (apiKey): Only if you prefer a key: create one under Dashboard → API keys at arcmira.com and paste it here, and the sign-in step is skipped. Keys never expire.

## Scopes requested

- openid
- profile
- email
- offline_access
- read
- recommendations:read
- monitors:write
- trackers:write

## Verify

The Arcmira card in PopMCP shows Connected with the account name, plan and credits. Asking the AI for the connection profile (`arcmira_connection_profile`) names the account and scopes, and asking it to find quotes on a topic (`arcmira_find_clips`) returns passages with timestamped links rather than an authorization error.

## Troubleshooting

### The sign-in window never opens

Cause: A pop-up blocker is stopping the Arcmira sign-in window.

Fix: Allow pop-ups for PopMCP in your browser and click Authorize with Arcmira again.

### "Your Arcmira sign-in has ended..."

Cause: The sign-in was not used for 30 days, or PopMCP was revoked under Dashboard, Integrations in Arcmira.

Fix: Reconnect Arcmira in PopMCP: one click on Authorize with Arcmira and Allow. Or connect with an API key, which never expires.

### "Arcmira did not accept that API key"

Cause: The key was copied in part, or it was disabled under Dashboard, API keys.

Fix: Create a new key under Dashboard, API keys, copy all of it (it starts with arc_sk_) and paste it again.

### A read answers 402 or 403 with a plan or credit message

Cause: Arcmira's plan and credit gates: Premium transcripts, sponsor rows, the newest 30 days of media and the before filter need a paid plan, and every plan has a monthly credit allowance.

Fix: The answer names the limit and links the plan that lifts it. arcmira_get_account shows the credits left; Dashboard, Spending in Arcmira sets an on-demand budget.

### Creating a monitor answers insufficient_scope

Cause: The sign-in was made with Create and change monitors unticked, or the key came from the API sign-up (read only).

Fix: Reconnect Arcmira with Create and change monitors ticked, or use a key from Dashboard, API keys. An owner or admin must also allow write actions in PopMCP.
